ASPE has a report out on the potential impact of the Inflation Reduction Act on Medicare Part D beneficiary out-of-pocket spending. This is a particularly relevant topic as the share of patients who have fallen into the catastrophic coverage has increased over time. ASPE estimates that IRA will reduce out-of-pocket spending by 14.9% overall, about $70 per Medicare beneficiary per year in 2024 and 29.6% (or $144) per year by 2025.
